SEPTEMBER UPDATE - FULFILLMENT BEGINS!

Dear friends,

Great news this week - fulfillment on BLACKBIRDS RPG begins Thursday!

All items are in, and we are excited to get them into the world and in your hands.

Shipping details

We will be using FedEx for all US-based shipments, and UPS for international shipments. Once all our packages are prepared and with the shipper, you will receive an email from Backerkit with your tracking information.

Servant of the Gods/Super Premium backers

Backers who ordered the Servant of the Gods and Super Premium backers will be required to sign upon delivery. You can arrange alternatives with FedEx or UPS once you get your shipping ID.

Hassle-free international shipments

For international backers, we are covering your tax and VAT costs. So receipt of your parcels is hassle-free! However, in the rare situation where you’re assessed other surcharges, please save your receipt and DM us here on Kickstarter so we can reimburse your cost.

Packaging

We pride ourselves on packaging for our backers. To that end, we have taken multiple precautions to ensure that your packages are not damaged during shipment. That includes shrink wrapping all Blackbirds books, and custom-sized craft boxes for regular books (like the ones we had for Flames of Freedom). 

With the Servant of the Gods books, we made “pizza–style’’ boxes with foam protection and corners to protect the box.

Damaged Packages

Should your package arrive damaged, please email us with pictures of the damage to [email protected], and we will determine the next steps to issue a full replacement or partial refund.

Dog Might Screens

Luxury wooden screens are produced and shipped separately from the Blackbirds backer packages. Once Dog Might completes production on your screen, they will send you an email with a unique tracking ID. You should receive your screens within 1-2 weeks after fulfillment begins on Blackbirds packages.

A lot has been happening behind the scenes, and we’re excited to give you some amazing updates about BLACKBIRDS RPG, including showing off some of the beautiful items we’ve received.

Addresses Locking July 10th

First off (and most exciting): we are so close to fulfillment! All shipping addresses will be locked soon in preparation for fulfillment. Please review your information in BackerKit and update any necessary details as needed by July 10.

 Dog Might Screens

In addition, for those of you receiving Dog Might Luxury Game Master Screens, production is about to begin, and products will ship on August 15th. For any questions about individual orders, please reach out to [email protected]. All backers receiving screens or dice towers will be entered into Dog Might’s SCRY system, which allows real-time tracking of your order via email as it moves through Dog Might’s shop – be sure to check your inbox or spam folder and check out Dog Might Games for more info about SCRY.

In addition to the Quickstart, PDFs of the Core Rulebook, Fateweaver Screen, and Talent/Tech cards were distributed to your DriveThruRPG digital libraries on Friday, July 1st.

We have some incredibly exciting updates for you! Production of BLACKBIRDS RPG is running right on schedule to hit our target delivery date. We’ve already received a few incredible items, and we thought it would be a perfect chance to give you guys a sneak peek of them and show you how things are shaping up.

STANDARD EDITION BOOK

With foil treatments on the cover, an embossed logo, and foil on the spine and on the back, this will be one of the most beautiful books you'll find in the tabletop RPG market.  We've included three ribbon markers inside:

CAMPAIGN COINS

With designs by Rob Sather, these tokens turned out beautifully! They include 1 Fate amulet, 2 Fortune/Misfortune tokens, and 2 degradation tokens:

DEATH SAVES X NORSE FOUNDRY DICE

Molded by a lapidary and made from cut glass and cat's eye, they're an absolute wonder to behold. As always, when rolling these dice, be sure to use a soft-lined tray:

SERVANT OF THE GODS PACKAGING

We received our white proofs of the Servant of the Gods box, its internals (the canvas map, Grimoire, and Fateweaver Screen), along with the pizza box-style packaging. This thing is a beast! The final versions will be all-black throughout, with special touches we'll show off soon. While we expect to have advances in the next few weeks, here's a peek at what the unboxing experience may look like for you:

FEBRUARY UPDATE

Dear friends,

Throughout this year, we’ve been working hard on accelerating our production and fulfillment timelines for Blackbirds. We want to get these books into your hands sooner than we’d promised. And, we’ve got good news to share on that front. It’s time to reveal what is ahead for everyone here on Kickstarter…

Printing Updates

On February 28th, we officially go to press! It’s been a very long journey for us, but the entire team is ecstatic to hand off the files to our print partner. Here’s a sampling of pages direct from our color correction house:

Page Count

We can also confirm that the final page count, including perforated character sheets and folding map of Erebos, is a whopping 680 pages! This grimoire will reveal all manner of horrendous revelations about the Oligarchs, theurgy, and what Fate has in store for the eponymous Blackbirds.

Once the files are at the printer, then it’s a waiting game. We anticipate having advances in–hand to show off in late June, along with the Servants of the Gods advances to show around the same time.

Sample Spreads

Blackbirds is – in a word – jawdropping. Every piece of art oozes from the page, coupled with words to draw you into the horrifying intrigue of Erebos. We’ve selected a few of our favorite spreads for you to look at. They express a bleed of rules and art, illustrating how BLACKBIRDS differentiates itself from its predecessor ZWEIHÄNDER. Fulfillment Ahead of Schedule

One of the things our team has been working hard on is our fulfillment strategy. We’d initially anticipated beginning shipping in September/October. However, we are very excited to share that we will be shipping sooner than expected! Here’s a breakdown of every item and dates we anticipate beginning shipping by:

Order and Shipping Updates

Dear friends,

We have a few quick but important updates:

• All Kickstarter orders are now locked. You will be able to modify your order until 9:00AM CST on Wednesday, December 1. For any needed changes or additions to your order after that time, please DM us to unlock your order.
• We will be shipping out the copies of Zweihander and Flames of Freedom books next week. There is still time to add these on! Books added by Wednesday morning will be shipped out in the first wave and will arrive just in time for the holidays for domestic backers.

We will charge cards on Wednesday, December 1, only for orders containing an add-on book set to ship in December. We will only be able to ship the books if your payment processes, so be sure to double-check the credit card you have on file for this campaign. All other orders will be charged on December 31.

Backerkit will remain open at least through December 31. There is still time to add a copy of a Zweihanderor Flames of Freedom book (shipping immediately), so take advantage! And don’t forget about the Fateweaver Screen and canvas maps. These items are only available during this Kickstarter campaign, so get them while you can...
